Spotlight on Volunteers

Thanks to all the volunteers who worked so hard for us in the past year.  Nearly 6000 hours of volunteers provided our service 365 days. We couldn’t do it without you!

Barbara Kipps, Catherine Ibarra Barbara Kipps has been reading once a week for the past 30 years.  Last year, and for many years, she has been the idea person and reader behind To Your Health.

Catherine Ibarra has also been reading once a week for the past 30 years.  She has read a great many of our programs over the years. Recently you have heard her most frequently on People or Soap Opera Digest.


Norm Worley, Lindsay Ryland, Mickey PetersNorm Worley can be found in a workroom, surrounded by
bits and pieces of Virginia Voice radios and the tools to make them work.
For 25 years he’s been the go-to-guy when our SCA radios break down.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch.  For 25 years she has read the morning paper, including a 21-year tradition of reading on Christmas Day.

Mickey Peters is another once-a-week reader for 25 years. You may remember  Mickey as the long-time regular reader for What’s Cooking? or Not Strictly for Women. She can currently be heard reading Family Matters, every Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.


Darrell Tetterton, Karen Hamilton, volunteers 1994-2014Celebrating 20 years of volunteering service with Virginia Voice:Darrell Tetterton is one of our  “live” readers of the The Richmond Times-Dispatch, currently reading on Thursdays, 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.

Karen Hamilton has been a do-anything volunteer with Virginia Voice. Reading on weekends, recording during the week, helping at parties, assisting us wherever and whenever help is needed.
