“I have always loved books and to read aloud, ever since elementary school. When I was in law school, I started reading legal textbooks for “Recording for the Blind,” an organization that has since changed its name. When I moved to Richmond to take my first job as a lawyer, I wanted to continue to read aloud and began by reading the Saturday and Sunday Richmond Times Dispatch for the Virginia Voice. That was 1989. I have been reading or involved in other capacities since then. I delivered my first radio to a reader this past summer. To see the joy on her face when she turned on that radio was more than enough of a reason to continue to give to the Voice however I can.”
