VIRGINIA VOICE ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL
WESTMINSTER-CANTERBURY

Our Annual Ice Cream Social will be held again this year in the new Commons at Westminster Canterbury on Westbrook Avenue in Richmond. You and yours are invited! It's Saturday, May 31st from 2 to 4 in the afternoon.

Please join us for this fun event as we recognize and celebrate the work of our wonderful volunteers.  You'll get to enjoy some really delicious ice cream with all the fixings as well as other scrumptious goodies.  Also, it's a great opportunity to get to know some of those who make up the Virginia Voice family whom you haven't met.  And, who knows, you might even win an exciting door prize!  We have some really good ones from several area businesses and restaurants.

So, mark your calendar now, and plan to be with us for the fun and fellowship!

IT'S UKROP'S GOLDEN GIFT TIME

Have you received your Golden Gift Certificate from Ukrop’s? If you're a Ukrop's shopper and use your Valued Customer Card, then earlier this year you earned points towards the Golden Gift Program. The Golden Gift Certificates were mailed out in early May. We hope you will use your Golden Gift points to assist Virginia Voice. Simply mail your Certificate to Virginia Voice by June 9. We'll return all certificates to Ukrop’s, and then Ukrop's will make a donation to Virginia Voice based on a percentage of the total number of Golden Gift points.

With your help, we look forward to another outstanding Golden Gift donation from Ukrop’s. Don’t forget to ask your family, friends, and neighbors to contribute their certificates to Virginia Voice as well. Thanks for your help!

Mail your Certificate to: Virginia Voice, P.O. Box 15546, Richmond, VA 23227.

VIRGINIA VOICE DAY AT THE DIAMOND -- SUNDAY, JUNE 29th

Each year, beginning in 1980, the Kiwanis Club of Richmond has sponsored a baseball benefit, the Annual Beeper Ball Game, for Virginia Voice. This fun event has been a highly successful one for the Kiwanis Club and especially for Virginia Voice, each year raising for the Voice sixteen to twenty thousand dollars.

This year, during this last season of our Richmond Braves, the Kiwanis Club is sponsoring a Virginia Voice Day at the Diamond on Sunday afternoon, June 29th for the 2:00 p.m. game between the Richmond Braves and the Durham Bulls. It promises to be a great day for us as the family of Virginia Voice gathers in an area of the stands designated just for us for a fun afternoon of leisurely fellowship and enjoyment of "America's favorite pastime."

So, mark your calendar, and plan to join our wonderful Kiwanis friends in supporting the Voice as we cheer on our Richmond Braves on June 29th. You can purchase tickets for a reduced rate of $6.00 directly from Virginia Voice. To order tickets, call us at 266-2477. See you at the game!
